So it is done. I completed Alternating Rhythms. It took more time than I wanted. During the process of finishing this piece, I lost a dear family member, in addition to managing some other issues, including the life changes we’re all adjusting to as a result of the coronavirus. So the alternating rhythms of this year definitely played a part […]
Forgive me, Internet, it’s been too long since my previous post. Like everyone else, I too, have had to deal with the changing social landscape of these times. It demands that our attention go other people and various aspects of our lives, but art is never far from my mind. I took some time at the beginning of the year […]
I almost didn’t work on a greeting card for this year. I was a bit more focused on other projects, however, a great friend of mine, Kevin “Sinclair” Nero called me earlier in the year to ask me if I would create a card for 2019 as I did in 2018. Kevin loved the jazz cards almost as much he […]
I was checking out Fred Nardin Trio’s album Look Ahead today and the song ‘In The Skies’ was one of I really liked. Interestingly, there’s a video for the song, so I thought I’d share it here.
Well, it’s done. Actually, I finished the bulk of it in April, but needed to tweak some things after finishing another project. This piece was created from a sketch created some 25 years before. The 20 x 24 original painting in acrylic on canvas and will be available for purchase soon. Stay tuned!
I love everything about this video; the performance, the shot angles, the camera movement, and of course, it’s Wes. The band includes pianist Harold Mabern, bassist Arthur Harper and drummer Jimmy Lovelace.
So most of last year was devoted to completing a different somewhat art-related project. It gave me time to gather some ideas for my next painting schedule. One of the pieces I wanted to get to this year is one that I sketched probably 25 years ago. It kept getting bumped down the list over the years, then, just when […]
I had the great pleasure to spend a couple of lovely weeks in Paris and Rome, among others, earlier in July and late June. We saw many great places, experience some wonderful moments and see many amazing sites, including a stop at the Louvre, but what inspired me most were the beautiful people we met throughout travels. I look to […]

Here’s the first new work from a series inspired by New Orleans. The title is Suite New Orleans. It was developed from a sketch in one of my many folders of sketches. This is an acrylic painting on stretched prime canvas, which measures 2 feet by 3 feet. The original sketch put me in mind of the New Orleans French Quarter […]
